Savage Electric Light Engine - August 28, 1991
Savage Electric Light Engine of 1891 celebrating its 100th Year at the Great Dorset Steam Fair in 1991. These engines were essentially portable showman's engines which could be hauled by horses or road locomotives and were designed to generate electricity for fairground rides and lighting. The similarity to their self propelled cousins the Showman's Road Locomotive can be clearly seen.

Fowler BB1 Ploughing Engine 15198 - AL8509 - August 28, 1991 seen at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Fowler Diesel Conversion Ploughing Engine, Reg # AL 8509 # 15198. Built in 1918 as a pair with sister engine # 15199 Reg #AL 8510, and supplied new to Messrs. Beeby Bros of Renstone, Nr. Loughborough, Leics and known as set No. 11. They worked as a steam set until 1950, and were converted to diesel power with Mercedes engines in 1951. They then worked by this power until 1963 when they were pensioned off. They were purchased for preservation in 1988.
