Ferry Slipway on the left is the Severn Area Rescue Association Lifeboat House and immediately in front of the slip way HM Coastguard building. These were built on the site of the Aust Ferry terminal buildings.

Stonework detail - Beachley Slipway. The Car ferries were side loading and the operation of the ferry service was very tide dependent. However, the ferry did save a detour of over 40 miles via Gloucester and there was no motorway back then between Gloucester and Bristol.
