The track was lifted in 1967. This view is taken from the down platform looking south towards Okehampton and shows the main station building. The platform face visible was the through down platform. The through down platform being behind the photographer. The building is the 1930s built slaughter house where locally produced meat was loaded into refrigerated containers for distribution by rail.     West Country Independent Bus Operators

    WJO Jennings Bedford YMT with Plaxton body CRL 918V seen in the station yard at Halwill Junction Station whilst operating the 629 Bude - Okehamton - Exeter rail replacement service - introduced after the closure of the former Southern Railway service between Exeter and Bude. The coaches always left the main road and travelled the few yards into the station yard before turning and heading off again. Unfortunately with that Pentax Auto 110 SLR - August 10, 1980.
