    Ding Dong Mine, Cornwall - June 07, 1984

    Tredinnick 30" pumping engine house at Ding Dong Mine Ding Dong Mine was created in 1813 as an amalgamation of 16 small of mines the oldest of which is believed to date back to the early 17th Century. The prominent Greenburrow engine house was built in 1865. Ding Dong mine closed on July 11, 1877. Between 1911 and 1915 the dumps were worked by the Ding Dong Mine Syndicate. Since then there have been three other attempts to reopen the mine.

    The stack of Cape Cornwall Mine which crowns the summit of the cape seen before restoration. The chimney served an engine house much lower down. The mine operated intermittently between 1838 and 1883. The prominent white house is the mine count house. The mine was last explored in 1966 when diamond drilling was undertaken.

Greenburrow 40 inch pumping engine house at Ding Dong Mine constructed in 1865 is a prominent feature on the moors near Madron. The prominent Greenburrow engine house was built in 1865. Ding Dong mine closed on July 11, 1877. Between 1911 and 1915 the dumps were worked by the Ding Dong Mine Syndicate. Since then there have been three other attempts to reopen the mine.

Production of tin ended in 1915. The mine was explored again in the 1920s, again during World War II and yet again in the 1960s and 70s.
