Canning Dock: Merseyside Maritime Museum - July 07, 1981

The first phase of the Merseyside Maritime Museum based around the Pilotage Building and Canning Graving Docks. These quaysides have been closed off for years now. Didn't the whole area look so much better and more interesting back then with emphasis on visitor exploration of an historical dock side rather than visitor management? The area is now dominated by the Museum of Liverpool which occupies the area to the right of the pilotage building which can be seen flying a flag. Camera: Contax 139 + Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.7 Planar lens. Agfa CT18 film
