Infilling of Victoria Dock was underway in 1999, though some had later to be removed for the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Link in 2007. There used to be Scherzer Lift Bridge beside the modern looking building on the right. Just beyond can be seen the short lived B&I passenger departure and arrivals building completed in the early 1970s and abandoned by the 1980s.
This was part of the former B&I Line terminal expensively completed in the early 1970s and closed by the 1980s. One of the two terminal buildings can be seen. The open quay side was once home to a container crane and containers were stacked on the quayside.
Waterloo River Entrance had a very short life. Originally built to replace the Prince's Half Tide Entrance the Waterloo Entrance opened in 1949. The closure of the B&I Terminal finally sealed the river entrance's fate and it was closed in 1988 and infilled.
