Prince's Half-Tide Dock once provided access to Prince's Dock and Waterloo Dock. The entrance was sealed with a concrete dam, along which had been constructed a brick windbreak wall, with the opening of the new Waterloo River Entrance in 1949. However, the gates, fixtures and fittings remained. One presumes that the fairly fresh white paint applied to the fittings dates back to when part of this site was occupied by HMS Eaglet before its transfer to a new building in the south docks.
