Queen Elizabeth II Dry Dock, Falmouth - March 29, 1989
Docking the MS RIVER ADADA
Operated by Nigerian National Lines RIVER ADADA (13,625grt / 1979) built by the Split Shipyard in the then Yugoslavia.
RIVER ADADA was sold in 1996 following the insolvency of Nigerian National Lines through a number of owners becoming AXION I later LEONIS and ending her life as LEONA I in 2009 under the ownership of Hogla Shipping (Hong Kong) Ltd.
As can be seen from this series of photographs taken over a period of an hour and a half the ship can be seen to enter the dock, and then gradually settle onto the blocks, during that time the weather went from misty, through bright sunshine and back to misty again!
Camera: Contax RTSII SLR, Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.7 Planar lens, Agfa CT 200 film.
