Royal Boskalis Westminster Plough Dredger NORMA is a familiar sight on the Mersey often seen busy at work keeping the various river entrances clear of silt. On Saturday March 01, 2014 she was busy at work dredging Canning River Entrance at high water. The bridge across the entrance providing a good vantage point and attracting a good audience of passers-by heading to and from the Pier Head from the Albert Dock complex.

Captain Jensen commemorates the first shot of the First World War

At 18:00 on June 28, 2014 whilst berthed at Avonmouth Docks, prior to sailing for Liverpool BOUDICCA commemorated the first shot of the First World War fired by Gavrillo Princip who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Fortunately I was in the right place at the right time standing above the bridge wing and was able to video Captain Jensen blow the whistle.
