LILIAN seen being prepared for the first train of the day. The locomotive spent most of her life at Port Penrhyn being built built by the Hunslet Engineering Company of Leeds in 1883 as No. 317. She was rescued in 1965, and moved to the Launceston Steam Railway line when it opened in 1983. She has been reboilered and equipped with air brakes as well as a tender.
The Launceston Steam Railway car park is situated on the site of the former Southern Railway station. The steam railway station is located under the arch of the bridge which carries the A388. The former track bad has been raised in this area since the closure of the standard gauge line with the surface now being several feet higher.
