Vestiges of the rail replacement bus service between Bere Alston and Tavistock linger on with some services on Stage Coach 87 connecting with trains at Bere Alston. The village is about half a mile from the village via a fairly steep hill!

View towards Tavistock. The portaloo was removed a few minutes after I took this photo. Work had been going on overnight to remove trees along the line which posed a hazard to trains and were causing bank instability using road-rail vehicles. The timber being recovered to an stacked in the former goods yard beyond the island platform.

The up platform waiting room was restored and reroofed some years ago in anticipation of the reopening of the line to Tavistock. It still has not happened!
The photograph mounted on the currently unused up platform waiting shelter remembers the important market gardening significance of the Tamar Valley. Should the reopening of the line northwards at least as far as Tavistock takes place then this recently refurbished shelter will once again be of use.
