Peel Open Air Swimming Pool
The City of Peel, "The Sunset City" located on the west coast of the Isle of Man once boasted an open air swimming pool.
The pool can still be seen on some postcards sold on the Island, though it appears to have been closed during the 1980s and has since been replaced by an indoor facility away from the coast.
The buildings have long been cleared and the pool filled in and grassed over - but the pool side paving, drainage gutters and building footings remained when the February 2011 photographs were taken.
However, a revisit on July 30, 2018 revealed that the area has been tidied up with the pool side paving replaced, and the grass infill of the pool replaced by synthetic grass! The wall surrounding the pool site has been repaired and painted and new railings erected.
Above the site of the pool the faded ghost sign "POOL" can be seen painted on the wall visible in this photograph.
