Silver Valley Tin Mine
The first work at Silver Valley commenced in 1815 by Captain Malachy who worked the Wheal Brothers lode. Between 1910-12 the ends of Wheal Prosper and Grace Dieu lodes were worked.
Liskeard Minerals Ltd acquired the mine in 1937. Liskeard Minerals constructed most of the remains which remain on site today including the sinking of a new shaft.
This Canadian Royal Engineers deepened the shaft in 1942 who were onsite for a year searching for tin and wolfram. Erection of a headgear took place at this time.
Despite spending £25,000 no ore was produced.
