Llanymynech Limestone Quarries and Lime Works - December 24, 2020
View along the standard gauge branch line towards the Montgomery Canal which it crossed on a bridge to make junction with the Cambrian Railways (GWR) route between Oswestry and Welshpool.
This line was originally the Cambrian Railway Llanfyllyn Branch which was subsequently by-passed with deviation. However, it was retained as far as Llanymynech Lime Works.
Following the closure of the Lime Works the "Rock Siding" as it had become known was used by the GWR for the storage or redundant rolling stock until recovery took place in 1939.
