"Road Closed" Once it was possible to drive in a loop around the high moorland areas on days that the Military were not firing. It gave easy access to motorists to some quite remote areas including a parking spot only 2km from the famous Cranmere Pool. However, the National Park and Duchy of Cornwall decided to close the road to the public in September 2009 remove the surface and install a granite ramp seen here to stop non military and agricultural vehicles from using the road.
