The remains of the Summerland / Aquadrome complex at Douglas. Demolition of which took place in October 2005.
Part of the structure was left in place to support the cliff leaving what amounts to a cross section of the swimming pool with location of the tiered seating and the diving board clearly visible.
On August 3rd, 1973 a major fire destroyed part of the building resulting in the deaths of 50 people.
The complex was rebuilt and reopened in 1977 before finally closing in 2004 with demolition taking place in the latter half of 2005.
As yet no use has yet been found for the site despite various schemes having been mooted.
